- What a perfect day this was-dark, cold and rainy. I think I could hibernate, but instead this day has bee a pretty busy one.
- We started off the morning doing our reading time together. Then the kids all had only 4 school things to do. For the most part, I picked the things that we are usually struggling to finish towards the end of the year. Of course, with just having 4 things the kids breezed through them. They also breezed through them happily.
- That was good for me because when they were finished, it was time for Cleaning Session 1. During our first session, we worked upstairs in the bedroom areas. We did baseboards, potties, closets and everything else that I could think of.
- The kids then had a bit of free time until lunch. At lunch, I read some before working with the little 3 on putting away their allowances-tithe, long term savings, spending-it can get a bit confusing for them and for me.
- I took Reagan to her orthodontist appointment this afternoon. The closer we came to the orthodontist, the most she started to moan! I didn't realize how much the girl dreads the orthodontist. She was only in there for 20 minutes today so surely it couldn't be that bad. Robby had a coupon for a smoothie, so when he arrived back home he did reward her with a drink.
- She received her drink just in time for our Cleaning Session 2. Reagan was happy, but apparently not any of my other worker bees were happy. I had already been refereeing Whitman, Campbell and Keaton for the past hour and had even made Whitman help me load the car to distract him from his pouty attitude.
- Therefore, I probably should have known that our session wouldn't go over so well. This time, we spent a lot of time downstairs. Now, I will say that I was hardly able to help because people kept coming back to me asking what their next chore was. This would have been a good thing, but when I would walk to another room, I would look around and see that what supposedly, had been done was not done at all! There is nothing more frustrating than that.
- We did manage to get things a bit better and at least all of the potties are clean. I did think about locking all of the bathroom doors so they stay clean, but I probably shouldn't lock all of the bathroom doors since that might create a few other messes.
- Robby grilled burgers for supper. We all ate and then the kids started on their showers. I toyed with the idea of having another cleaning session but chose not to for my own sanity. Robby and I did work on the van for a pretty long time. I guess all we need to do now is throw a few more things in the car and off we can go. Our rice krispy treats are even made!
