The Dennie family has a trip each year and this year's trip was at Village Creek State Park. It was a pretty perfect spot for our families except for the mosquitoes. I had seen a trail that was part of the Trail of Tears and Robby had seen a trail that had a swinging bridge. It turned out that the trail was the same one so we all went hiking along it one morning.
Even though we hiked in the morning, it was still hot, hot, hot! Thankfully, the Indians picked a shaded area to walk through and it was shady and cool as we followed in their footsteps down the Trail of Tears. It was a really neat hike and the swinging bridge at the end was a great picture and snack stop at the end. Click here for the pictures and blog from that day.
