On the second day of our road trip this year, we stopped at the home of Andrew Jackson, The Hermitage. This was probably the day on our trip that we decided that we were never going to take a trip again when it was so stinking hot! Seriously, nothing like walking around a plantation and touring an old non-air conditioned house in the middle of a heat wave! It was a very good tour (short and sweet) and I learned a lot about Old Hickory. I guess that we could even go back since it was cheaper for our family to buy an annual pass than to just buy tickets.
