Whitman "Mohawk" Dennie |
- Another good day here at the Dennie house. The kids were up way, way before they should have but Robby enjoys their company when he is on the treadmill (not really-he has to watch kid shows and not his trashy news shows that he likes to watch. Can you tell I am not a big fan of the news? I try to get my blog done each night while he watches the tape of todays news. Then we start watching real tv and if I am not finished by then, what normally takes me 20 minutes to write becomes 2 hours because I am highly distracted)
- This was our first Wednesday without Bible study in a long, long while so we did school-our last day! Their summer schedules start tomorrow so we will see how that goes and my Graham is now counting down the days until the pool opens.
- This morning during breakfast, I heard some commotion and Anderson was using his freshly washed wet hands to style poor Whitman's hair into a mohawk. That baby just sat there and let kid after kid mess with his hair. Later in the day, I heard Keaton in the sink and turned the corner to see that her hair was completely wet. I have learned not to ask why, just to start cleaning up the messes!
- We had fruit for lunch and the kids all ganged up on my saying that we have sandwiches every single day. Robby had sandwiches every single day for lunch growing up, I had sandwiches every single day growing up-we turned out fine. I do not see a problem with this at all-peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, apple and some milk. Maybe I need to teach these kiddos to cook this summer.
- After lunch we did our chores-just imagine Keaton vacuuming! And then we played our Uno Math again. Graham tonight begged me to let them play it tomorrow-ok. Kind of nice to have found a game that all of them can play (with varying degrees of help).
- Then it was nap time for the little ones, movies for the big ones and treadmill time for me. After this Campbell and I were downstairs sitting on the couch working on her letters and heard a kerplunk. I knew someone was upstairs and thought maybe one of the big kids had heard Keaton and got her out of bed. I got up to go and see and in walks Keaton-she climbed out of bed all by herself. Isn't that a lovely trick! I know that she is almost 3 and could be in a big bed but I was planning on her staying in her crib for another 2 or 3 years.
- Soon it was supper time and then time to head to church. After the Family Worship, we headed home and had ice cream truck tonight since we skipped on Sunday. The kids were thrilled with this and talk is that we may have our much anticipated spelling bee tomorrow sometime-wonder if that will end in tears?!
