Football season begins! |
- Fairly normal morning around here after a long night. My Whitman woke up at least 3 times last night. A bit after 8, I made him an appointment just in case his little cold turned into an ear infection. Soon we were all ready to start our day and headed out to Grannymom's house.
- She had breakfast and the kids were pretty excited about not eating at home but most had to have their milk before we left the house. I had a doctor's appointment and then ran to Sams to pick up some medicine. I waited as the filled mine and Anderson's prescriptions and then as I was checking out, I realized that they hadn't filled the one I needed before the trip. By that time, I couldn't wait anymore because of Whitman's appointment so that means another trip to Sams. Surely there is something I will need from there.
- I ran to Grannymom's house to pick up Whitmanwho was happily napping. When I went to check in for the appointment, I told them which doctor I thought I was seeing and they said "no, I was seeing Martin." Come to find out, Martin had seen our name on the schedule and moved us because she had an opening. That was very nice of her.
- While the nurse was checking us in, Whitman had the fakest cough ever-it was like we had rehearsed it! The cough didn't help convince anyone that he was sickly. His ears were fine so he was given the all clear to travel. Martin did say that I could give him some benedryl-I am going to be the one chugging benedryl tonight so I can sleep through all the middle of the night goings on.
- Back at home, Keaton had a nap while the 4 big kids worked on becoming Jr. Rangers for Carlsbad Caverns. Next up we read a few books and then the kids had a snack and watched a movie while I worked some more on packing. My goal was to have stuff packed by Wednesday evening-I am now amending that to Friday at 5 am to be finished with packing!
- Robby came home and him and the boys headed out to football practice. Robby said that Graham did good in practice (after throwing a fit all afternoon) but he also said that it was going to be a long season-wonder what that means since we will miss half of it? He said he didn't see much of Anderson's practice on the next field but what he did see, it looked like Anderson was doing well.
- Poor Campbell has now watched 2 seasons of Upward football and two seasons of Upward soccer-3 of those seasons she clearly understood that she was not getting to play but her brothers and sister were. Tonight, on the way to Reagan's practice tonight, she completely broke down crying "I want to play soccer." She cried the entire way to Raymar. I tried to explain that she could help Robby, that she needed to watch carefully to decide what she wanted to do next fall-football or cheer leading and I tried to tell her that in just a few months she would be playing soccer. That didn't help her hurt feelings at all. By the time we arrived, I was about ready to change her birth date by a year.
- Campbell and I watched Reagan's practice-Reagan is the only girl but she seemed ok with that. I just wish she knew someone on her team. But she tried and seemed to have fun-even caught a few balls. She did notice that some of the boys were faster than her though. On the way home, Campbell, who had perked up some, told Reagan "You did good, I am proud of you."
- At home, the boys had eaten supper and then Graham went to bed early due to his fit and Anderson stayed and waited on us. The girls had showers and then it was bedtime for all of the Dennies.
