Sometimes you just stumble upon things and this is what happened on our Pony Express stop in Gothenburg, Kansas. This was one of the real pony express stops where the rider would dump and pick up mail and have two minutes to change horses on his way. We had read a book about the pony express during school so the kids were familiar with the idea-though how can they really understand the concept since snail mail is almost becoming a thing of the past. It was a great afternoon stop for us-a park right behind it for us to eat our lunch and run off some energy before hoping back in the car.
