December 13, 2011-Happy Birthday Anderson

Happy Birthday
Anderson!
Highlights from today: (Click here for pictures)
  • Just a few hours after Robby and I went to bed, Graham climbed into bed with us and about the same time that we realized he was there, Keaton woke up ready to eat (around 2).  Graham had claimed my pillow while I was feeding Keaton so when I got in bed, I took Robby's.  Don't feel bad for him because he had another one nearby.
  • The next thing we knew, it was 7:20 and we needed to leave in 40 minutes.  The kids are usually up in the mornings but it is just sickening to have to wake them up.  They probably would have been awake in a few more minutes but to just know that we actually could have hung out in bed a bit more and couldn't is heartbreaking.  We did pretty well to get all 7 of us dressed, fed and out the door in 40 minutes though.  In the morning, we all need to be leaving the house at 7:30.  Wish us luck!
  • I dropped the girls off at Nonna's house and Robby dropped the boys off at school.  We had forgotten their coats but they borrowed some when they went out on the playground.  We just need to keep a set in the car for when we forget-it wasn't that cold though and they would have been fine.
  • Anderson and Graham had good days at school and then we had lunch at Nonna and Pops' house.  The kids were all pretty exhausted when we left.  This is how they were falling apart when I was trying to load up the car-Campbell was screaming at Anderson because he had her stroller, Graham was fussing about having to leave, Anderson, well, he was sitting on the potty and Reagan was sitting in the middle of the yard crying because she couldn't find a four leaf clover.
  • We came home and they played outside for a few minutes while I unloaded and reloaded the bags.  In just a matter of minutes, Campbell had dirt from head to toe and the boys were almost as bad.  After everyone was cleaned, it was nap time for the girls, school time for Reagan and Anderson and Graham couldn't decide if he wanted to take a nap or come to school.  He was pretty mad at me because I wouldn't let him play with trucks in the schoolroom-not enough room for that too.
  • After school, the kids have gotten into a routine of moving the kitchen chairs into a train and then having a snack.  They did this again today.  They don't pretend that they are even on a trail anymore, they just eat their snack and then move the chairs back.  Soon the neighbor girl came over and I let them back outside for a while.  Campbell then woke up and eventually saw them outside and was determined to join them.  So she did and within 5 minutes, they were all in the dirt-so I made them come in.
  • It was time to go anyway so they didn't mind.  We met Robby at the Train restaurant and Robby told he lady it was Anderson's birthday and she gave him a train whistle.  He had already worn his train hat from home and couldn't have been happier.  There were quite a few people there tonight so we were able to see the train a few times go around.  The kids had fun (though the food isn't that great at all).
  • Next up we drove through the lights at Burns Park and they were so very impressed and even more impressed about getting candy canes to eat (later).  After the lights, we stopped at Sonic for slushes and Anderson was able to open his one last present from us (fire truck legos).
  • When we made it home, it was shortly bedtime and the birthday boy said "this wasn't a very fun birthday"  He was just tired but we did politely remind him of his awesome birthday party the other day, room full of new toys, doughnuts at Krispy Kreme, powdered donuts for breakfast, a day at school today, lunch at Nonnas, supper at the train place, looking at Christmas lights, a slushie and one more present.  He did have a great birthday (even if he doesn't realize it).
