Another snow day! |
Highlights from today:
- The biggest surprise of the morning was when Dad called while on his way to work and said that schools were out. Mom had a haircut at 11 so she called to check and was asked if she could come at 9:30. Since it was 8:45 and she was the only one partially clothed everyone had to move quick.
- Everyone worked well and clothes were on in record time. It is so nice that Reagan can do most everything by herself. Anderson needs constant reminders and redirections to get things done (boys!) While Mom was getting Graham and Campbell ready, Reagan and Anderson were picking up the upstairs.
- Once everyone came downstairs Mom ushered them to the car. She grabbed crackers and poptarts for breakfast but forgot the coloring books and crayons for the wait. The kids were fine and were pretty impressed by the snow-Mom was not as the roads seemed to be pretty covered (Dad said he really didn’t think it was as bad as it was or he would have nixed that plan). The kids devoured the poptarts and a sleeve of crackers with Campbell signing more as fast as she could.
- When we made it safely home, Campbell took a nap while the rest of us cuddled on the couch and watched a movie…or two…or possibly three. Graham and Mom were snuggled up so well that they both took a snooze. After the movies were over, the kids played and Graham rested a little more
- We had a late lunch and then more playing-legos, little pet shop, trains. Mom spent her time trying to decide if supper for the crew would be on or off tonight (we did cancel, then thought maybe we shouldn’t have, but knew we did the right thing when Nonna and Pops and even Jason (who left here early) saw people slipping and sliding around)
- There was a little bit of excitement at nap time. Mom and Dad heard a horrible scream (Reagan) and Dad asked if she had fallen out of the top bunk bed. Since she was laying on the floor, that didn’t happen. What did happen was Anderson slammed her finger in the closet. It turned red and blue pretty quick and was a nasty little smash. This of course woke Graham up and he was very, very concerned about his big sister
- They watched a few movies until Campbell woke up (thanks to Graham). Nonna and Pops came over for an early supper and then watched the kids play in the snow. The kids thought it was so funny to throw the snow at Nonna and Pops-even though they were inside looking out through the window
- Jason was around too and he played for awhile and after he left, everyone was shipped off to bed. They must have been tired because even Graham went to bed without a fuss
