Highlights from today: (click here for pictures)
- Everyone must have been tired this morning because the kids were just really stirring as Dad left for work
- Going downstairs, breakfast and then helping Mom pack up the car-really, just one night of camping can completely fill up a van (and we didn’t even bring our bikes or the wagon since they just wouldn’t fit)
- Graham spending quite a bit of the morning screaming in the garage, he wanted Dad, he wanted to go bye bye and he wanted Mom to come in the garage-none of those happened so he was pretty upset (nothing that a good nap wouldn’t fix)
- While Campbell took her morning nap, the rest of us played a new game from Reagan’s birthday, Monopoly Jr.-since it takes about as long as the real Monopoly, Graham became bored and messed up the game. We finished the game with Graham in his room.
- Campbell is now sleeping in her pack n play (without her bouncy) and she just sleeps so incredibly well. She will only fuss for like 10 seconds as you walk out of the room and then she is sound asleep. And she usually doesn’t fuss to wake up, you just hear her talking
- Mom sat and read to Reagan, Anderson and Graham. The book was about 2 kids traveling through the US. When Mom turned to the page with the US Capitol on it, Graham raised his hand and said “me, me” (meaning: I have been there) Then when Mom mentioned the Washington Monument up went his hand again
- Naps for everyone. Mom and Reagan are working on her reading book each day before nap. Here is the story that Reagan read all by herself today: The little cat can run. That little cat can sit. That cat is in the sand. See the feet. Reagan loves doing the book. One of her New Year’s resolutions was too learn to read so we have just a few more months! I just think she will be able to cross that off of her list.
- Reagan waking up from nap first and working on making her flower craft from her birthday. Mom had put it in a closet and kind of forgotten about it but Reagan finally described what she was talking about to Mom and she figured it out
- Dad coming home and everyone piling in the car for our Great 2010 Campout! After a stop at the grocery store, we were on our way. Anderson spotted a volcano on the way (Pinnacle Mtn)
- The Dennies provided the entertainment for everyone around as we had 3 little helpers putting up the tent. Actually, everyone here is in RVs so they didn’t see us because they were busy watching tv!
- Grannymom and Grandpa arriving as finished the tent and then everyone enjoyed a hot dog supper along with chips (this is a low frills campout since it was quite spur of the moment)
- After supper, it became dark pretty quickly. We still walked down to the swing and slide area in the dark. The kids played for a few minutes and then we headed back (we did make bathroom stops on the way and on the way back) Grannymom pushed Campbell on the gravel and then had to back up since it was hard to push and Campbell became very upset thinking that she was leaving
- After Grannymom and Grandpa left, we had smores. The kids enjoyed making them and Reagan was pretty good at it-even though she doesn’t like smores at all and just prefers marshmallows
- We looked at the stars for a few minutes and Graham pointed to the sky and said “Jesus made dat”
- We have made our beds in the tent-Reagan, Mom, Dad, Anderson, Graham and Campbell in the pack n play at our feet. Who thought Anderson and Graham should ever be together?
- Campbell was the first to go to sleep, followed by Reagan. Graham is saying “Anderson Dennie, Anderson Dennie” so it doesn’t look like they will be going to bed anytime soon
- Anderson and Mom have the giggles because Dad just asked Graham if he wants to get in the car. We better quite down or we may end up in the car!
